Repurposing Poly(3‐hexylthiophene) as a Conductivity‐Reducing Additive for Polyethylene‐Based High‐Voltage Insulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) is found to be a highly effective conductivity-reducing additive for low-density polyethylene (LDPE), which introduces new application area the field of conjugated polymers. Additives that reduce direct-current (DC) electrical conductivity an insulation material at high electric fields have gained lot research interest because they may facilitate design more efficient high-voltage power cables. An ultralow concentration regio-regular P3HT 0.0005 wt% DC LDPE threefold, translates into highest efficiency reported any date. The here-established approach, i.e., use polymer as mere additive, boost demand in absolute terms beyond quantities needed thin-film electronics, would turn organic semiconductors from niche product commodity chemicals.

Ontologies as facilitators for repurposing web documents
This paper investigates the role of ontologies as a central part of an architecture to repurpose existing material from the web. A prototype system called ArtEquAKT is presented, which combines information extraction, knowledge management and consolidation techniques and adaptive document generation. All of these components are co-ordinated using one central ontology, providing a common vocabul...
متن کاملUse of olive stone as an additive in cement lime mortar to improve thermal insulation
The process of olive oil extraction produces olive stone, a residue which cause considerable problems of disposal. This paper proposes and analyzes an original use of olive stone in order to improve the heat insulation performances of cement lime mortar and reduce its final density. To this purpose, the paper illustrates a set of small-scale tests, which were conducted on specimens of cement li...
متن کاملRepurposing celecoxib as a topical antimicrobial agent
There is an urgent need for new antibiotics and alternative strategies to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens, which are a growing clinical issue. Repurposing existing approved drugs with known pharmacology and toxicology is an alternative strategy to accelerate antimicrobial research and development. In this study, we show that celecoxib, a marketed inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2, ex...

Itraconazole, a common anti-fungal agent, has demonstrated potential anticancer activity, including reversing chemoresistance mediated by P-glycoprotein, modulating the signal transduction pathways of Hedgehog, mechanistic target of rapamycin and Wnt/β-catenin in cancer cells, inhibiting angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, and possibly interfering with cancer-stromal cell interactions. Clinical...
